How do I find out about a specific property in Pender County?

Bill Walsh

Q. What do you know about the huge house under construction on N.C. 133 near the elementary school in Rocky Point?

A. MyReporter prefers not to give out information about a private residence. However, the public information in a request such as this is generally and readily available through counties’ departments of planning and community development. In Pender County, that agency can be reached during normal business hours at (910) 259-1202.

“You can always call our main line, and we are more than happy to respond to any inquiries that might come in, in regard to any permits that have been pulled for specific properties,” said Planning Director Kyle Breuer. The county, he added, is working on the capability to enable online searches of such data but is not there yet.

Call with the best information you have at hand, Breuer suggested. The more specific you can be with the location, the better. “If there is landmark there, or if there is a posted address of a property that is directly adjacent to it, that would probably be the most beneficial thing,” he said.
