Is a Habitat for Humanity ReStore opening in Leland?

Q. I noticed a Habitat for Humanity Restore sign in front of an old building in Leland. Is there a new store going in? If so, is there an estimated opening date?

A. A new Habitat for Humanity ReStore will open in Leland in March according to Hope Shirley, an administrative associate at the Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity construction office.

The new ReStore will be located at 414 Village Drive, which was most recently a Peking Buffet.

ReStores are stocked with a wide variety of gently used building materials and household items from windows to furniture “making affordable home ownership a reality,” according to the Brunswick County Habitat website.

For a full list of donations needed or items that ReStores cannot accept, visit their website: http://www.brunswickcountyhabitat.org/restore.html

Brunswick County has two other ReStore locations, one in Ocean Isle at 6560 Beach Drive and one that serves Southport and Oak Island at 4170 Long Beach Road in Southport.
