What streets are scheduled for repaving in New Hanover County?

Q. Are there any plans in sight for the repaving of North 16th Street from Princess Place Drive to Dawson Street?

A. Yes, that and much more.

The N.C. Department of Transportation has a resurfacing contract that opened in March and should be completed by May 15, 2015.

Here is the full list of roads included in the contract, including sections of 16th Street in Wilmington.

Mill and resurface following routes:

S.R. 1218 (16th Street) from U.S. 76 WBL (Wooster Street) to U.S. 76 EBL (Dawson Street).

S.R. 1371 (16th Street) from Grace Street (non-system) to U.S. 17 Business (Market Street).

S.R. 2816 (16th Street) from U.S. 17 Business (Market Street) to U.S. 76 WBL (Wooster Street).

S.R. 1301 (17th Street) from U.S. 17 Business (Market Street) to Grace Street (non-system).

S.R. 2817 (17th Street) from U.S. 76 EBL (Dawson Street) to U.S. 17 Business (Market Street).

S.R. 1411 (Wrightsville Ave.) from Dawson Street Extension (non-system) to Independence BoulevaRoad

Resurface the following routes:

S.R. 2699 (Amstedam Way) from S.R. 2700 (Old Dairy Road) to S.R. 2048 (Gordon Road)

S.R. 2701 (Antilles Court) from S.R. 2698 (Netherlands Drive) to end maintenance.

S.R. 2698 (Netherlands Drive) from S.R. 2048 (Gordon Road) to S.R. 2700 (Old Dairy Road).

S.R. 2700 (Old Dairy Road) from U.S. 17 Business (Market Street) to S.R. 2699 (Amsterdam Way).

S.R. 2220 (Windmill Way) from S.R. 2219 (North Green Meadows Drive) to S.R. 2700 (Old Dairy Road)

S.R. 2183 (Spring Road) from NC 133 (Castle Hayne Road) to S.R. 2184 (Fairfield Road).

S.R. 2184 (Fairfield Road) from S.R. 2183 (Spring Road) to S.R. 1318 (Blue Clay Road).

Widen and resurface following routes:

S.R. 1940 (Covil Farm Road) from S.R. 1409 (Military Cut-Off Road) to S.R. 1916 (Red Cedar Road).

S.R. 2717 (Torchwood Boulevard) from U.S. 17 Business (Market Street) to S.R. 2718 (Beacon Drive)

Mill & resurface one section and just resurface another section of S.R. 1363 (Bayshore Drive) from U.S. 17 Business (Market Street) to S.R. 1393 (Biscayne Drive).

Resurfacing of U.S. 421 (Carolina Beach Road) from beginning of curb and gutter in vicinity of Echo Farms to U.S. 76 (Wooster Street).


Why repave Gordon Road now when it’s slated to be widened in the future?

Will bike lanes be painted on the Bradley Creek bridge on Oleander Drive?
