Where can I dispose of household hazardous wastes such as pesticides and aerosol paint?

Q. Where in New Hanover and surrounding counties can I dispose of household hazardous waste such as old pesticides, weed killer and aerosol paint?

A. You can drop off those wastes at New Hanover County’s household hazardous waste facility, 3002 U.S. 421 north of Wilmington.

Visit http://www.nhcgov.com/News/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=436 for hours of operation and a list of the materials that can be taken there.

To find out where to dispose of such materials in other counties, contact that county’s Solid Waste or Environmental Management department.

Who handles yard waste disposal in New Hanover County?

Can the landfill set aside construction waste so others can use it?
