Where can I recycle batteries and light bulbs?

Zeinab Savage

Any resident of New Hanover County, including those who live in Wilmington, can recycle hazardous materials such as batteries and light bulbs at the disposal drop-off site at at 3002 U.S. 421. It also accepts several other household items to be recycled including fluorescent lights and alkaline batteries. It is free for any resident in the New Hanover County but not to businesses.

Where can I recycle if I live in an apartment complex with no collection bin?

Why does recycling service cost extra and is not included with trash service in New Hanover County?
