Is the water in Hampstead treated with fluoride?

According to Michael Mack, Pender County’s Director of Utilities, “PCU does not treat our water with fluoride although our water treatment plant is equipped to do so.”

Mack said there is currently an ongoing public health debate over the addition of fluoride to public water supply, with some being for it and others being opposed.

“We have elected not to inject fluoride into our water supply at this time until more conclusive evidence had been documented,” Mack said.

When will the new Pender County water system along U.S. 421 and N.C. 210 be ready?

My well water smells strange. Who do I call to make sure it is safe to drink?
