Does the British Navy minesweeping ship still come to Wilmington?

Ashley Hanners

According to Jeff Miles, Chief Operations Officer for the North Carolina Ports, no British minesweeping ships have been to Wilmington in the last five years. Miles went on to explain that these ships probably did come through Wilmington prior to 9/11.

Furthermore, the City of Wilmington Dockmaster, RT Jones, affirmed that no British minesweeping ships have come through Wilmington since he started his position in 2001. He does, however, recall seeing them prior to becoming dockmaster.
