Where in Brunswick County can I go clamming without a boat? Is a license required?

On Oak Island, the area between King’s Lynn Drive and Horse Island (pictured here) is open for clamming according to N.C. Marine Patrol Officer John Hall. No boat or license is required. Limitations: Clams must be at least 1-inch thick, no more than 100 clams per person.
