Where can I find the latest storm evacuation information, procedures, shelters, etc., for Brunswick County?

Si Cantwell

Q. With Hurricane Season almost here, where can I find the latest emergency/evacuation information, procedures, routes shelters etc.,  for Brunswick County.  The latest I’ve been able to find is from 2008!

A. We think the best place for storm-preparedness information about Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties is StarNewsOnline.com/Hurricane.

The evacuation routes and guidelines can be found here.

Shelter information is listed here.

You’ll also find maps, interactive tracking tools and info-graphics, and much more.

It’s also the place to find all the stories produced by our team at the StarNews and StarNewsOnline.com

Since the 2012 hurricane season has gotten off to an early start, check back often to see the latest.

Has the eye of a hurricane ever passed over Wilmington?

Has New Hanover’s hurricane recovery plan been updated to keep pace with development?

Why was my mail delivered during Hurricane Irene?
