Are there church services held on the beach on weeks other than Easter Sunday?

Say you’re in town on a Sunday staying at a local beach, and you forgot your Sunday best at home or you’re just not in the mood for a meet-and-greet in a local church vestibule. You can still satisfy your yearning for the Lord at the area’s beach worship services.

The Little Chapel on the Boardwalk Presbyterian Church does a beach worship service at 8 a.m. each Sunday — June through August — at Beach Access 4 in Wrightsville Beach. Details: (910) 256-2819.

The Rev. Betty Jo Blackmon of the Barefoot Beach Chapel in Brunswick County had been holding beachfront services at the Cabana, Beach Drive at SE 46th Street, Oak Island, for years, but recently had to stop because of her husband’s continuing health issues.
