The 12th annual St. Patrick Day Parade and Festival will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011, in downtown Wilmington.

The parade, presented by the Friends of the Hibernians, will begin at 11 a.m. on Red Cross Street, continue by Second Street to Market Street and end along Water Street.

The parade will last about an hour, according to organizers. The annual Guinness St. Patrick’s Day Festival begins at noon in Riverfront Park and will continue until about 7 p.m.

The festival will feature live music, Irish dancers and cultural vendors, along with food and beer for sale.

Sponsors include Friends of the Hibernians, Downtown Business Alliance, CoolWilmington.com, Guinness Beer, Encore Magazine, The Penguin 98.3, The Bone 103.7, and the city of Wilmington.
