Can anything be done to ease traffic backups on 41st Street near Hoggard High School?

Ken Little

New Hanover County Schools spokeswoman Valita Quattlebaum said that when the district safety office receives a complaint regarding a traffic problem, Director of Safety Harris McIntyre makes an on-site visit “to observe the situation and talk with the school administration regarding the concern.”

McIntyre will conduct a site visit on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Hoggard High School, Quattlebaum said.

“McIntyre may make recommendations during the initial visit,” she said.

Depending on the nature of the problem, Quattlebaum said McIntyre may invite representatives from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the Wilmington Police Department, N.C. Department of Transportation, New Hanover Schools Central Facility Planning and the school district’s maintenance department to attend a site visit and meeting “to discuss the problem and come up with joint solutions or recommendations.”
