Why does Parsley Elementary School advertise on the ‘This’ TV network?

Ken Little

The commercial is a public service announcement created this past summer by New Hanover County Schools, at the request of the Interim Superintendent Dr. Edwin L. West, school district spokeswoman Valita Quattlebaum said.

“The purpose is to introduce the public to the district’s new theme: ‘Making Tomorrow Together,’ and to increase community support and volunteerism in the schools,” Quattlebaum said.

All schools were asked to produce a commercial. The commercials were created in the New Hanover County Schools’ TV studio at no cost other than the staff time it took to produce them, Quattlebaum said.

“Since these are public service announcements, they are aired at no cost to the district or schools,” she added.
