At Cobbler’s Bench, 123 Front St., Wilmington [Map this], you can have your shoes polished as you wait or you can leave them and pick them up later, said Anecia Smith, who runs the downtown shop. You also can leave your shoes to be shined at Roses Shoe Plaza, 2642 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington [Map this]. Longleaf Shoe Repair, in the Longleaf Mall at Independence Boulevard and College Road, Wilmington, does professional shoe shining, said Josh Spake, who runs the shop.

None of the shops’ proprietors knew of any present location in Wilmington that has a chair and stand for shoe shining.
