What events are booked for the new Wilmington Convention Center?

Susan Eaton, the general manager of the Wilmington Convention Center, provided a list of upcoming public events scheduled for the center. Admission fees are unknown at this time, she said. Parking is in the attached garage.

Nov. 14, 2010 — Cape Fear Wedding Show, noon-4 p.m.

Nov 20, 2010 — Aniwave Festival (Japanese-related art/animation), 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

Jan. 13-14, 2010 — BizTech Conference and Expo, times to be determined.

March 4-6, 2011 — Wilmington Spring Home Show, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

    Wow- 4 events!! I am not familiar with the Aniwave Festival ( a 9 hour event) but haven’t the other 3 been functioning for years in Wilmington with the pre-existing facilities??

    I don’t get why some people have to be negative about any new project that helps the city. Of course the shows have gone on before but now there is a central place to showcase and help development.
