“We are most definitely still coming to Wilmington next year, and at the same Oleander location as previously announced. Nothing has changed,” Whole Foods Market spokeswoman Darrah Horgan said.

“We are still looking to open Summer 2012, but we don’t announce opening dates until we get much closer. We will begin construction within the month,” Horgan said in early November 2011.

The plans by the Austin, Texas-based company were announced in May 2011. A sign announcing the new store went up in April 2011 at the site of the closed Lowes Foods at 3804 Oleander Drive, Wilmington [Map this].
