Whatever happened to Amici Group’s plans for 22,000 acres in Brunswick County?

Ana Ribeiro

The Amici Group has not completed the purchase of the land and has closed its office in Wilmington.

One of the next projects by business editor Wayne Faulkner is to find out more about what happened to the deal, the purchase of 22,000 acres along Town Creek, north of U.S. 17.

Wayne’s pursuing a follow-up to a StarNews story he wrote on the project last year.

According to the article, the plan by the company, which had closed on the first two phases of the deal, was to develop some residential and commercial properties there and perhaps sell some of the land to other developers.
