What work is scheduled for the medians on Carolina Beach Road?

Ken Little
StarNews

The barrels on U.S. 421 (Carolina Beach Road) at Seabreeze are for a contract awarded to Cape Fear Paving to perform grading, paving and drainage work on the median crossovers on U.S. 421 from Snow’s Cut to George Anderson Drive, said Wayne Currie, N.C. Department of Transportation resident engineer.

Monolithic concrete islands will be installed at non-signalized crossovers to eliminate left turn movements from the side roads on to U.S. 421, Currie said.

The work should begin within the next week, Currie said March 1, 2011.
