Many groups across Southeastern North Carolina help out those in need around Thanksgiving. Below are some examples of what local groups are doing for Thanksgiving 2011. Please use the comments section below to post other happenings or services you may know of as well.
Thursday, Nov. 17: 2 to 4 p.m. Pre-Thanksgiving dinner, sponsored by St. Phillip AME, 815 N. 8th St., Wilmington [Map this].
Monday, Nov. 21: noon to 3 p.m. Enoch Chapel Church, 7011 Market St., Wilmington [Map this], free Thanksgiving feast for the homeless and the community.
Tuesday, Nov. 22: St. Mary’s Social Ministry Outreach, 412 Ann St., Wilmington [Map this], (910) 762-5491, ext. 35. St. Mary’s is giving away baskets filled with Thanksgiving dinner items. The recipients have already been chosen and the outreach does not need volunteers.

Thursday, Nov. 24. 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Annual Thanksgiving dinner at St. Luke AME Zion Church fellowship hall, Seventh and Church streets, Wilmington.
Saturday, Nov. 26: 3:30 p.m. Meal sponsored by St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 12 N. Sixth St., Wilmington [Map this].
