Is Randall Pond stocked with fish and is fishing allowed in the pond?

Yes. There are fish in Randall Pond, although the exact number is not known. And yes, fishing is allowed in the pond.

Dylan Lee of the Wilmington city manager’s office said all normal state fishing laws apply — meaning fishermen should make sure to have a proper license before going out to fish.

Yes Randall pond is stocked with fish. It comprises of mostly largemouth bass, bluegill, redear and carp. All of which are popular gamefish. I was involved in a project with UNCW to stock Randall with fish from an on campus pond. We moved many healthy size bass and bluegill to Randall pond. If you fish Randall, please execute catch and release style fishing to ensure future fishing opportunities. Also please do not introduce any new fish species. The addition of exotic fish can disrupt the balance of the pond, and lead to a decline in fishing conditions. Enjoy and good fishing!
