How do I get a ticket to the ceremonies when the U.S. Navy Secretary visits the Battleship North Carolina?

U.S. Navy Sec. Ray Mabus will visit Wilmington in October 2010 to celebrate the 235th birthday of the Navy aboard the Battleship North Carolina.

Danielle Wallace, programs director for the battleship, said the memorial is hosting the event. However, she said, details about tickets and other facets of the celebration have yet to be confirmed. She said the battleship will make those details known closer to the date of the event.

The Oct. 12 ceremony on the battleship will also be part of the ongoing celebration in anticipation of the commissioning of the USS Gravely, the Navy’s newest destroyer, on Nov. 20 in Wilmington.
