What are the names of the creeks to the north and south of Ness Creek?

Amy Hotz
StarNews

Ness Creek is a small tributary of the Northeast Cape Fear River near the John J. Burney Freeway bridge in the Wrightsboro community.

This part of the Northeast Cape Fear Rive is filled with small creeks and tributaries.

The largest named creek closed to Ness Creek is Smith Creek, which is just to the south.

Richard Lawrence with the N.C. Underwater Archaeology Branch at Fort Fisher said it’s likely the creeks you are interested in are unnamed tributaries.
