Why can’t I reach a real person at the StarNews? The customer service number transfers me out of the country.

Merton Vance

Yes, our primary telephone customer service unit is outside the continental U.S. and in some instances we employ an automated voice response unit.

However, it is possible to reach the StarNews locally by calling 343 -2000 and pressing 0.

Phone numbers for news, advertising and business offices are listed in the “Contact us” link on our web site and listed on page 2A of the print edition of the StarNews.

Out of the country customer service does not build good will with customers. Surely someone at Star News or NYT should know this.

And this is why I do not subscribe to the Star-News any longer. American companies need to keep their operations based in the US to help keep able American CITIZENS employed, not moving overseas for CHEAP LABOR.

Way to go StarNews. No USA all the way, eh? Don’t ever write an editorial on improving our economy until you keep a simple job like answering the phone right here.

Don’t skirt the answer. It’s economics plain and simple.

I had a horrible experience with your so called “customer service”. This was over an error made by your accounting department. He offered no help and left a very bad impression.
