How do I find the elevation of my house or neighborhood?

The web site www.freemaptools.com/elevation-finder.htm has a map of the world where you can find the elevation of any neighborhood.

Just zoom in and place a marker where your neighborhood is. The elevation will appear below the map. For example, the elevation of the Cypress Island subdivision near Snow’s Cut, at the corner of Cypress Island Drive and River Road, is 6.92 feet above sea level.

If you want to find out a specific address, you can download the Google Earth application at www.google.com/earth.

Open Google Earth and type in your address including city and state in the bar on the top left corner that says “Fly to.” The elevation of your address will appear at the bottom center of the screen. To change the measurement from meters to feet, go to the menu in the top left corner and click “Preferences.” Under “3D View” you can change between feet and meters.
