What is the law on carrying a handgun in a vehicle if you have a concealed carry permit?

According to New Hanover County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jerry Brewer, if you are carrying a weapon in a vehicle it must be easily visible. If the weapon is concealed in any way then you are carrying a concealing weapon.

“Now, if you have a carrying concealed weapon permit then you are allowed to conceal the weapon in your vehicle,” Brewer said.
