With Halloween 2013 being on a Thursday, will local bars celebrate the weekend before or after?

This is the weekend to get freaky. Delayed gratification is apparently no way to run a business.

Most Wilmington bars are planning their holiday contests, performances and events for this weekend. City Limits is holding its Halloween party this Saturday (Oct. 26). Ibiza is holding a $500 costume contest on Saturday, and the Red Bus Halloween Party will roll through town on Saturday. The Palm Room at Wrightsville Beach is also planning its Halloween bash for Saturday.

The good folks at The Whiskey are the exception. They must be the types that open all their presents on Christmas morning. They are having their Halloween party on … Halloween night, Thursday, Oct. 31. That’s also the night to get your photo taken downtown at the StarNews photo booth. Be sure to scare up your friends and check it out.
