Q. Does Wilmington City Council have a policy in place to prevent fraternization between members of City Council and also between council members and city employees?
A. The council has no such policy, said Malissa Talbert, a city spokeswoman.
The city does have an administrative policy that addresses nepotism among city workers.
That policy says: “Two or more members of an immediate family shall not be hired, promoted, transferred, or assigned within the city if such employment will result in one supervising a member of his or her immediate family, or where one member occupies a position which has influence over the other’s employment, promotion, salary administration and other related management or personnel consideration.”
