Are there any restaurants in Wilmington that serve Lobster Newberg?

A. The closest thing available is Shrimp and Lobster Newberg that can be found at two of downtown Wilmington’s oldest restaurants, The Pilot House (2 Ann St. ph: 910-343-0200) and Elijah’s Restaurant (also 2 Ann St. ph: 910-343-1448). They are next door to each other in Chandler’s Wharf, on the riverfront overlooking the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, and both are under the same ownership.

The Pilot House has Shrimp and Lobster Newberg on the menu yearround. It’s served over linguini in a rich lobster stock cream sauce with diced tomatoes and scallions.

“I would say it’s our most popular pasta dish for sure,” said Pilot House bartender, Ryan Duron.

At Elijah’s, the dish is only offered as a special, it’s not on their main menu.

Several calls to the numerous seafood restaurants in Wilmington resulted in no other finds of Newberg. Lobster Ravioli, a similar lobster pasta dish is, on the other hand, very easy to find. Trayt.com, a website for restaurant connoisseurs, ranked Romano’s Macaroni Grill (1035 International Drive ph: 910-256-4550) and Circa 1922 (8 N Front St. ph: 762-1922) the top two to spots for Lobster Ravioli.
