OLD ANSWER: According to Jeff Walton, associate planner for Development Services for the city of Wilmington, there are no permits or records in place or being requested for the site of the old Carolina Cantina building, located at 5031 Market St.

Karen Hall, Administrative support supervisor for development services center for New Hanover County, confirms this.  The last permit for that address was in 2009 and right now, there are no permits in place for that location.

    I just drove by again and it appears to have reverted back into an illegal video gaming parlor called reward zone. No wonder they didn’t file anything witht he city!!!
    Seems like this would be a good inbvestigative journalism piece by WSN…
