Has the gun range on River Road been tested for lead?

Q. Has the gun range on River Road been tested for lead? Before construction?

A. The range was tested for lead five or six years ago, said Cpl. Kevin Nedley of the Wilmington Police Department.

The results of those tests were not readily available because the sergeant who handled them has since retired.

We don’t know if the range was tested before construction. A Freedom of Information Act filed with the Environmental Protection Agency yielded no records, so it’s unclear who did the tests.
