Why are there 10 registered sex offenders living in the same area of Racine Drive?

From the N.C. Offender Registry.

There is no law that prohibits sex offenders from living with each other or in close proximity, said Sgt. Jerry Brewer, a spokesman for the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

Brewer added that they could all live in the same house, but they would have to have a valid address so that their whereabouts could be tracked.

In North Carolina, sex offenders must register where they live. You may search for a sex offender by street name or by name of offender. Follow this link to search: http://sexoffender.ncdoj.gov/search.aspx

High density development. There are a lot of apartment complexes near the college. Not an ideal area to house sex offenders.

They are all different apartments in 2 or more different complexes. My guess would be it is affordable.
