Q. Is it possible for a single family residence to pay for water and sewer service within the city of Wilmington but not trash pick-up, instead hauling it off by themselves?
A. Within the city of Wilmington, the recycling program is voluntary, but residents are required to sign up for city trash service, said Richard King, the city’s public services director.
That’s unless the city resident lives in a private neighborhood with private backdoor service, such as Landfall.

I live in Monkey Junction and my neighbor got rid of his trash service and now burns it in his backyard. Yes burning plastic and all! Is there anything I can do or report him to someone for this?
You would report that to the fire department.
