That construction is the latest phase of the Westbay subdivision, north of Gordon Road.
According to local developer Burrows Smith, “Village Park is just our latest phase at Westbay subdivision. There will be 74 homes when completed.”
Burrows said his company hopes to build a paved bike path along the project’s retention pond, leading to Ogden Park.
“I’m in discussions with the county and actually hope to meet with them next week, as a portion of the path will be on county land,” he explained. “Drivers will notice the first approved speed humps in New Hanover County. We just installed that (to) follow a newly-adopted county ordinance.”
