Q. What is the status of the stormwater mitigation project at Inland Greens golf course and how much of this is being paid for from the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course enterprise fund?”
A. According to Dylan Lee, a spokesman for the city Wilmington, springtime will see the commencement of the Inland Greens project; and zero dollars will come from the golf fund.
“The Inland Greens project will get under way this spring and involves extensive stormwater improvements on the city-owned Inland Greens golf course and Wiregrass Road, a public facility, as well as design and construction of a park and a 9-hole, par-3 golf course,” said Lee.
“The total cost of the project is $1.95 million,” said Lee. “This includes land purchase, extensive stormwater improvements, and construction of a 9-hole golf course and park. Funding comes from the city’s general fund and stormwater fund. None of it comes from the city’s golf course fund.”
The Inland Greens project is projected to be completed in the fall of 2013.
