According to the N.C. Wildlife Resources, the boat ramp at Sutton Lake will reopen sometime in February. Located off of U.S. 421, Sutton Lake is used to provide cool water to the Duke Energy Energy Plant.
The ramp, closed on Oct. 29, 2012, has been undergoing renovations. They include two new boat ramps with courtesy docks, a handicap accessible fishing pier, new parking areas, solar lighting, as well as more signage.
The NCWR does not want to give an exact date due to possible unforeseen circumstances, however they are confident in the February timeline.

UPDATE: Duke Energy announced on Feb. 28 that the boat ramp is ready for use.

How deep is the lake? Can a ski boat go in?
A majority of the lake is only 2-4 feet deep, with many stumps and trees barely submerged beneath the surface. There is a channel that is 25-30 feet deep, but taking a ski boat on that lake would be certain trouble for your boat or skiers
