Q. In the new zoning proposal for the block of Castle between 16th and 17th streets, what might be done about the bar Juggling Gypsy? Will it be allowed to stay in the area?
A. Under the latest proposed regulations, the Juggling Gypsy would be allowed to stay in the area.
The city of Wilmington is finalizing a new type of zoning: urban mixed use. The zoning is designed to revitalize areas and jump-start development in the proposed area.
The Juggling Gypsy was permitted as a restaurant, according to city of Wilmington zoning records.
The city’s proposed urban mixed use zoning, which is still being reviewed by the city Planning Commission, does not prohibit restaurants, confirmed Christine Hughes, a city planner.
