Q. Is it true that convenience store clerks in Wilmington have to put my single bottle or can of beer purchase into a small brown bag? If so, why?
A. “There is no current North Carolina Statute or ABC Commission regulation that requires a single container of malt beverage be placed in a brown paper bag when sold by a retail establishment,” said Patty McQuillan, communications officer for the N.C. Department of Public Safety which governs Alcohol Law Enforcement.
