Q. Are there any plans to repave Interstate 40 in New Hanover or Pender county anytime soon? It is getting pretty bad in Pender County.
A. The repaving of Interstate 40 in New Hanover and Pender counties isn’t in the state Department of Transportation’s five-year resurfacing plan, said Karen Fussell, division engineer with DOT Division 3.
That means motorists will have to deal with the conditions for at least a few more years, barring changes in road priorities or an infusion of cash into the DOT.
That stretch was last resurfaced in 2001, Fussell said.
