Q. On Sept. 22, 2012, the Sunny Point Fire and Rescue boat was used in a wedding on the waterfront in Southport. Who paid for this and was there another boat on standby at Sunny Point during this time?
A. What you were seeing was purely coincidence
The Sunny Point Fire and Rescue Vessel wasn’t there to for a wedding on Sept. 22, according to Steven Kerr, Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point’s deputy to the commander. The vessel was there to prepare for the support of the Wounded Warrior Ride in Southport the following weekend.
