What was the name of the 5-and-10 on Carolina Beach Road across from Legion Stadium in the 1960′s.

The 5 and 10 store across from Legion Stadium in the 1960′s was Grace’s 5 and 10. It was located in a small block building that also contained a laundromat and Al’s Coffee shop. It was approximately where Floyd’s Auction is now. The store was old-style and a paradise for someone with only a few cents. Line of bins filled with all kinds of treasures, went from the front to the back of the store. Christmas was not complete without a bottle of Evening In Paris cologne you could afford to buy there. It was truly the last of its kind in the area.
