Q. I deeply mourned the loss of the Eddie Romanelli’s restaurant on Oleander Drive. In the past week or so there has been a lot of activity in and around the location. What is coming there? Please let it be another great restaurant.
A. LM Restaurants, which owns several Wilmington properties, is bringing a new concept to the area at that space at 5400 Oleander Dr. It could open as soon as next month as the Hops Supply Co., which will feature seasonal American fare, craft beers and specialty cocktails.
Mindy Stroupe, a company spokeperson, said a menu is in the works for the gastropub, but will likely include dishes such as short rib nachos, roasted tomato-and-garlic flatbread, a seasonal beet-and-red pepper salad with goat cheese and pistachios, brown-butter salmon, Chicken 2 Ways (braised and fried), and the Farm Egg BLT.
LM is based in Raleigh and also operates Taverna Agora, Henry’s, Bluewater, Oceanic, New Bern Subs and Carolina Ale House.
