Why is there a giant tortoise at the Fulton Station Shopping Plaza?

Here’s what MyReporter was able to learn: A man used to bring giant tortoises to Fulton Station Plaza. It was like a petting zoo that he opened for the public. It was free but he accepted donations.

“I haven’t seen him lately,” said Ray Worrell, owner of Slice of Life pizza, which has a location there. “I saw him out there at least on two separate occasions.

“It was actually kind of cool, families coming out there to check him out,” Worrell said. He said the man offered small kids a chance to ride the tortoises, whose shells were maybe three feet across.

Worrell said he doesn’t know why the man doesn’t come anymore.

If anyone has more information about the man, or has some thoughts about tortoises in general, let us know in the Comments below.
