MyReporter has found no synchronized swimming clubs or lessons taught around the area. However, the Wilmington Family YMCA incorporates synchronized swimming into its youth lessons for ages 12 and under. Joe Herzberg, the aquatics director, described it as a component of the swimming lessons.

Call the YMCA at 251-9622 for more information.

Lance Tate, the aquatics director for the YWCA Lower Cape Fear, said that for two years, the YWCA of the Lower Cape Fear taught an introductory course in synchronized swimming for both youth and adults. However, they discontinued it after the two instructors moved away.

The last performance was spring 2010.
