Q. Can the city make improvements to the Northside Splash Pad? Half of the sprayers aren’t working and the pressure is bad. Sometimes they all quit working and the kids are left with no water to play in.

A. From Amy Beatty, the city’s Superintendent for Recreation and Downtown Services:

“The computer that controls the sequence of the sprayers is in disrepair. The preliminary cost estimate to repair the part is between $4,000-$6,000. While the City investigates finding the funds to repair the sequencer, Parks staff has installed an irrigation controller to temporarily alleviate the issue and provide some form of functionality to the splash pad. The irrigation controller is more restricted than the permanent sequencer. The result is that there is a delay between stations spraying.”
