Q. I had heard there would be a public boat launch coming soon to the Middle Sound Loop area. Any news? It’s been a while!
A. According to Jim McDaniel, director of parks and gardens for New Hanover County, there are currently no plans to build a boat ramp in the Middle Sound Loop area.
The county does own a piece of property that they planned to use for a kayak launch, but the property is involved in easement issues that have to be worked out first. He said that plan is way off in the future and the money isn’t there at the time.
“We just don’t have the means right now,” he said.
