Q. What can be done about the parking at Trails End boat ramp? Theres not enough parking for trucks with boat trailers.
A. According to Andy Johnson, New Hanover parks operations manager, nothing can be done about the parking situation at Trails End boat ramp. The entire lot is only about four acres, with eight parking spaces marked off. Once those eight spaces are filled, users are expected to park wherever they can fit.
The lot next to the ramp is privately owned by the marina, and they have been approached about selling the land for extra parking. Unfortunately, they are using the land and cannot sell. Johnson said, “It’s not because we’re unwilling, the resources aren’t there for parking.”
