How many times in the 2011-12 school year have New Hanover County Schools been locked down?

New Hanover County Schools does not keep a record of how many times any school has been locked down, said Dave Spencer, director of safety for the district.

But schools hold lockdown drills at least once a year with the New Hanover County sheriff’s department, Spencer said, and each school is expected to hold one per semester.

I find it very concerning that the school does not keep track of the amount of times it enters lockdown status. If the school doesn’t keep track (shame on them) i’m sure the Sheriff’s department does.
