Why was there a sheriff’s deputy stationed inside the polling place at Bradley Creek Elementary on Election Day?

Sgt. Jerry Brewer, a spokesman for the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies monitor polling places that are located inside schools because classes are still in session, creating a situation where potentially large numbers of people are coming onto school grounds.

The sheriff’s office wants to make sure students remain safe and voters don’t venture into parts of the school where they are not allowed.
