What sort of schedule do the New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies work?

Brian Freskos
StarNews

Deputy Jason Augst said different units within the patrol division have different schedules. But for the most, patrol deputies work 12 hour shifts and alternate between night and day shifts. And for every two shifts, they take two days off.

So for example, the average deputy works two day shifts and then takes two days off. They come back and work two night shifts, and then take two days off.
