 Q. Will Delta Air Lines be upgrading its regional jet service between ILM and Atlanta to a two-class service?  Similarly, will the new Delta jet service between ILM and New York-La Guardia include a two-class configuration?

A. There will be no first-class service on either of these routes, according to Delta spokesman Trebor Banstetter. This is because both are 50-seat regional jets, more specifically Bombardier CRJ200 aircrafts, and they are configured for a single-class cabin because they aren’t large enough to accommodate a comfortable first-class area, he said.

This type of smaller-plane setup is typical on flights of two and a half hours or less, Banstetter added.

The new nonstop ILM to LGA route from Delta begins on July 15, he said.
